SOLVEIG'S SONG™ is a music company recently founded by pianist Heidi Brende Leathwood to offer you classical recordings and concerts. Solveig's Song by Edvard Grieg is the inspiration for the company name, which was chosen partly to celebrate Heidi's Norwegian heritage. The song itself is a multi-faceted gem: quietly introspective, but at the same time communicating great passion, depth of feeling, and the pure joy of making music. The embodiment and communication of these qualities is our vision for Solveig's Song™.

Right now the main focus of Solveig's Song™ is our ever-important goal of introducing children to the world of classical music. After the re-release of the award-winning albums SmartSleep with Classical and SmartPlay with Classical (originally released by Brende under her label Wee Are Young), we plan to triple the size of our Smart collection for kids in the next year. We also continue to offer kid-friendly concerts to children of all ages (email us for more information).

We feel strongly that "classical for children" doesn't have to mean watered-down, simplified arrangements of masterworks. Children deserve the stimulation and the challenge that exposure to the best can give them. Solveig's Song™ is uncompromising in its commitment to bring you only music of the highest quality—music that a connoisseur can enjoy as much as a novice does.

This website describes the albums, including full track listings, audio samples for downloading and listening, detailed notes with suggestions for listening and activities, and reviews. We aim soon to provide a facility for ordering on line; in the meantime, other ordering options are given, including links to other on-line stores. For further information, contact us.
